There are a variety of events held year round on the Gurten.  From yoga to stargazing, full moon fondues to Sunday brunch, there's something for everyone.

It's also just a great place to go and hang out and have a picnic.

Cow Bells

If you are looking for a Cow Bell Souvenir, CLO has two recommendations:

Glockengiesserei Berger allows you to customize and create your cowbell from start to finish. Visit the CLO office to see the catalogue or visit their website

*Note that reservations are required and recommended several months in advance.

If you prefer an authentic bell (one that’s actually been used), Rytz Sattlereiand his wife have the best selection I’ve seen (and it’s where the CLO family got theirs): Simmentalstrasse 332, 3762 Erlenbach

The cow bell is not just a simple bell, it is a symbol of seasonal change, held in high regard all over Switzerland.

St. Bernard Barry

Barry, the most famous rescue dog in the world, died 200 years ago but remains a legend in Switzerland to this day. Barry can now be admired at the Natural History Museum Bern, where a new exhibition explores the heroic deeds attributed to this extraordinary St Bernard from the Great St Bernard Pass. The question is, which of the stories surrounding him are fact and which are myths? The exhibition tells the whole truth.
